If you’re like me then you’ve got a nice shiny iPad (or after tomorrow perhaps the iPad 2) with Apple’s AirPrint technology technology built in. Sounds great, right? Â Print practically anything from your iPad directly to your printer? Â There’s just one problem – if you don’t have one of the 17 wi-fi enabled compatible printers then you’re out of luck.
However, knowing I had a perfectly good printer plugged into my iMac on my home network I set out on a search to enable AirPrint for any printer connected to my network. Â After a bit of searching I came across a little program for the Mac called AirPrint Activator (developer link). Â I ran the little utility, re-installed my printer, and after a total of 60 seconds worth of work, was printing from my couch. Â Awesome!
